Railo 2.0 out now!

The final release of Railo 2.0 is now available for download from the re-vamped Railo website.

If you've already tried Railo, you'll probably be wanting to head straight to the download page.

What is Railo?

Railo is a ColdFusion-compatible CFML engine. It parses CFML into Java byte code that can run on any Java servlet engine, (such as Tomcat, Resin, JRun, etc).

Why use Railo?

There are three simple reasons:

1. It is faster than the other CFML engines - even the highly optimised CF8.
2. It is low-cost, with free Developer and Community versions, plus Professional and Enterprise versions at far less than the Adobe ColdFusion prices.
3. It is compatible with CFMX7, with plenty of useful extensions - I've already covered some of the features Railo 2.0 includes in a previous entry, so I wont repeat myself here.

To try out Railo, you can be up and running in a matter of minutes: simply download Railo Express, unzip, run the batchfile, and you have an instant CFML server to experiment with.
